HSEC / OH&S Officer – Australia

Salary Range: $65-75k

OBJECTIVE:
This position involves managing Incom's Incident Management software product (User Guides, Training Guides, Client Support, User Training) to improve the overall health, safety and security of employees engaged in operations within Incom's client base by understanding and advising on effective policies and procedures that contribute to client's Commitment to Zero Harm and to improve their employee welfare and company performance by eliminating or reducing risk exposure.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible for understanding client requirements and configuring the software for field operations and assuring client compliance with regulations, laws, codes, safe work practices, etc.  This position interacts with a wide range of clients, and there is considerable latitude in determining priorities and objectives to direct significant software changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a strong understanding of local and international safety codes, standards and management systems. Product knowledge and field experience in construction, mining, oil & gas, or power generation industries is preferred.

Applicants must possess effective written, oral and presentation skills and computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and must be comfortable working independently and in a team environment.  Ability to manage multiple priorities. Domestic travel is necessary, with international travel possible.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate should have at least 5-8 years experience in a OH&S role. Requires education equivalent to a degree in Science, Business, Engineering or related field. Qualification as a Certified Safety Professional is preferred. Membership within HSE related professional bodies is desirable.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Primary accountabilities include: management of demonstration Incident Management systems; user guides, training material and user training, occasional travel to field sites to provide onsite training or support; regulatory guidelines; customer requirements; and support for clients’ HSEC programs.  This position reports directly to the Managing Director of this small software firm. The successful candidate will be based in Sydney and may work independently from their own home.
