The Incom Enterprise Bundle consists of five major software modules:
Control Self Assessment
Risk Management
Incident Management
Claims Management
Issue Management
There is an ever increasing range of risks that cannot be insured or are expensive to insure. This trend from insurance (risk transfer) to risk management is happening at all levels of the enterprise, from factory floor to boardroom. Also, to get a common view of risks – a common vocabulary for risks – organisations are moving to an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) model.
Key Benefits
Best Practice
It is now considered good practice for every manager to have access to risk management systems. This is no longer seen as a back room system for a few risk management specialists. Today’s risk management system must be proactive, and proactive systems must deliver timely, relevant information to each manager’s desktop. This means having a multi-user web-enabled system that can support hundreds of business users in many locations.
One size does not fit all
Risk management approaches vary from company to company and from country to country. Advanced businesses have a good appreciation of proactive risk management, rather than reactive incident management.
This means that good risk management software involves considerable functionality for risk ranking and monitoring, treatment cost-benefit, budget allocation by department, work orders for preventative action, review notification, and communication via reports and automated emails to stakeholders, responsible parties, contractors, and senior management.
Today’s system must address all that and also report on its own effectiveness: information that boards of directors might well need to know.
It has been necessary for Incom to continually appreciate differences in approach between companies, industries and size of business. Incom responds to this through very flexible systems configuration and pricing.
Proactive vs. Reactive Risk Management
The World’s leading risk management standard AS/NZ 4360, is generic in that it may be used to manage risks relating to any business situation or decision, and gives guidance on proactive (preventative) risk management.
However, it does not fully address, or at least integrate reactive risk management (responding to complaints, incidents and inspections), or corrective action through Control Self Assessments. Incom’s family of risk management products addresses both aspects.
Incom’s family of software products addresses both proactive and reactive risk and issue management with flow-through from Issue Management to Incident Management, Compliance Management and Risk Management. Enterprise Guardian is this bundle of products, where you select what you want when you want it.
Major Modules
The Incom Enterprise Bundle is actually five applications in one system, and each application requires similar but different data sets:
Control Self Assessment and Risk Management are proactive, and help reduce accidents, incidents, complaints and insurance claims
Incident Management and Claims Management are reactive, where you take corrective action and may conduct root cause analysis
Issue Management may be reactive (a non-conformance report) or proactive (planning for product obsolescence) and where you do not want to worry about whether the issue qualifies as a risk.
Major companies intending to develop their own risk management system in Microsoft .NET architecture using SQL Server, are invited to discuss purchase of source code so as to leverage extensive work already done.
